Animal Health Center was established in 1985 by Dr. Michael Pedersen. We moved to our current location in 1995. This clinic is a full-service veterinary medical facility, located in Cannon Falls, MN. Dr. Mike, Dr. Lahner Ingles, Dannette, Liz, Molly, and Carla seek to provide the best possible medical, surgical and dental care for their highly-valued patients, supporting small town community spirit.

We are committed to promoting responsible pet ownership, preventative health care and health-related educational opportunities for our clients. Animal Health Center strives to offer excellence in veterinary care to Cannon Falls, MN and surrounding areas.

  • Dr. Michael R. Pedersen

    Veterinarian
    Dr. Mike received his B.S. degree in chemistry & math in 1972 from The University of Great Falls, Montana.

    He attended The College of Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Sciences at Fort Collins, Colorado, receiving a D.V.M degree in June 1976.

    Attended a 1 year large animal internship at Texas A & M University in College Station.

    Moved to Minnesota in the fall of 1977 and has practiced here until this present day.

    In 1985 he founded The Animal Health Center in downtown Cannon Falls, moving to the present location in 1995.

    Dr. Mike lives on a farm with 3 horses & 2 dogs.
    In his leisure time he enjoys riding, spending time with grandchildren, camping and working around the farm.

  • Dannette Lawrence

    Vet Assistant
    Dannette joined the team part time in 1994 then full time in 1995.
    She has raised her children in Cannon Falls and they are living their lives out in Seattle and Hawaii.

    A long time resident of Cannon Falls, Dannette likes this community, her friends and neighbors.

    Her adopted cat, Willie and her Dove, Crackers keep her company at home.
    You can hear them both when you call her, one cooing and the other meowing!!

    She enjoys time up at the Lake during the summer, reading books and visiting her children and grand cat, Finlay.

  • Liz Jacobson

    Veterinary Technician 
    I joined the practice in February 2019. I love working with all types of animals no matter their size, even if they are bigger than me. I currently own one dog (Otis), three cats (Marshmellow, Taz, and Angel), and two turtles (Bonnie and Clyde). I enjoy reading, doing puzzles, doing things outside at my own home, horseback riding, and playing with my cats when i am not working or studying for school.

  • Dr. Lesanna Lahner

    VETERINARIAN 
    Dr. Lahner (Ingles) has been a veterinarian for ~ 15 years and will be seeing dogs, cats, horses, and whatever comes through the door! She brings acupuncture and holistic medicine to the practice. Dr. Lahner lives in rural Cannon Falls with her husband and too many dogs, cats, horses, sheep, pigs, and chickens. She enjoys pottery, gardening, and trail riding with her draft-cross horses. PC: MELISSA BAUS

  • Molly Kelly


    VET ASSISTANT
    Molly is a veterinary assistant with a bachelor's degree in Equine Science as well as certification in equine massage therapy and Raindrop technique. She lives on a horse ranch with her two quarter horses, two dogs, a corgi and a jack russell / rat terrier cross. Molly enjoys rodeo and horse training/massage.
